“Good ideas take time, great ideas take a little longer, and epic dance battles take experience, conception, and modern dance integration—Solid Dance Battle: 40 years in the making” -J.R.
J.R.
Founder/Owner Solid Dance battle
J.R. started sharing her dance techniques as a studio instructor starting at age 14. She landed her first professional contract at 15 and went on tour with*NSYNC, Performed with the Disney CO., has contributed and performed in multiple Super Bowl halftime shows and competitions. A constant force in the dance industry, J.R. started Solid Hip Hop in 2002. A program that integrates ideas and concepts for up-and-coming dancers to showcase their talent, get noticed and grow their careers.
Rather than compete, Solid Hip Hop dancers went straight to performance art at the street level. The raw choreography, the dancers’ energy, and talent generated a buzz that caught the attention of the NBA, MLB, and NFL. Solid Hip Hop dancers were now the focal point at halftime shows, baseball games, and showcasing their talent at the Staples Center. The end goal for J.R., of course, is to create opportunities for talented dancers.
J.R. has now taken Solid Hip Hop to the next level and transformed it into the premier dance battle of the year. Solid Dance Battle makes its debut at SoFi Stadium.
